Two uncrowded mountain areas 111 trails that offer an immense choice of skiing terrain, from the toughest challenges in the East to the gentle slopes preferred by those just starting out on skis. And 2,000 acres of backcountry in the Slide Brook Basin. It’s no surprise Sugarbush recently ranked #1 in Terrain Variety by SKI magazine and the area was named “Best Ski Town in the East” by Outside Magazine.

Mountain Information

• 2 Mountains, 6 peaks – Mount Ellen, Lincoln Peak, Castlerock Peak, North Lynx Peak, Gadd Peak, Inverness Peak

• 2,600 foot vertical rise

• Over 4,000 acres of terrain including trails and wooded glades, from gentle novice slopes to groomed cruisers, bump runs, steeps, terrain parks, halfpipe and race courses.

• 111 Trails – Over 53 miles and 508 acres of trails with a variety of terrain,

• Green Circle (beginner) –  24 trails, 102 acres, 20%
• Blue Square (intermediate) – 51 trails, 228 acres, 45%
• Black Diamond and Double Black Diamond) – 36 trails, 178 acres, 35%

• 16 Lifts – 7 quads (including 5 high speed quads), 2 triples, 4 doubles and three surface lifts, total uphill

Lessons

Sugarbush Ski and Ride School offers you a unique menu of programs designed to push your limits and expand your confidence, both on and off skis, all in an atmosphere devoted to having fun.

Lesson programs include First Timers, Adult Group (max 4), Short Cuts mini lesson, Carving Drills and Skills, Tree Skiing, Adult Private, Hollywood private lessons with video analysis, Bump N’, Micro Bears (3 yrs), Mini Bears (4-7), Sugar Bears (7-12), and private and group lessons for kids of all ages.

Rental Equipment – Lincoln Peak Village & Mount Ellen Base Lodges

The rental shops offer rental and performance models for adults and children skiers of all abilities.  High performance demos are also available.  Repair & tuning services are also available.  Open weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and weekends and holidays from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Accommodations

Sugarbush offers a variety of accommodations at lodging properties on & around the mountain, as well as throughout the Mad River Valley including over 6,600 beds in the resort including 2,200 slopeside accommodations. There is everything from intimate B&B’s and classic Vermont inns to a range of convenient mountain and slopeside condominiums.

The Sugarbush Inn’s 42 cozy rooms will let you cut enough “Zs” to catch the first chair with a fresh set of legs while our wide selection of condominiums are ideal for groups big or small. And our new development, the Clay Brook Luxury Hotel & Residences, offers luxurious slopeside accommodations.

Driving Directions

– Northbound directions from Albany and points south and west: take I-87 Northway to Exit 20, go northeast to NY #149 to Route 4 to Route 100. Follow Route 100 North to Warren. Turn left onto the Sugarbush Access Road (look for the Sugarbush Resort Area sign).

– Southbound directions from Burlington or Montreal: take I-89 south to Exit 10 Waterbury. Follow Route 2 south through Waterbury to Route 100 South. Follow 100 South through Waitsfield. Turn right onto the Sugarbush Access Road (look for the Sugarbush Resort Area sign).

– Northbound directions from New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and points south: take I-89 north to Exit 9/Middlesex to Route 100b. Follow 100b to 100 South through Waitsfield. Turn right onto the Sugarbush Access Road (look for the Sugarbush Resort Area sign).

– If the weather isn’t too snowy, take Exit 3/Bethel off I-89. Take 107 west to 100 North, then follow it up through Rochester, Hancock and Granville until you take a left onto the Sugarbush Access Road (look for the Sugarbush Resort Area sign) in Warren.
